About OEA

Your voice. Your Union.
The Oregon Education Association (OEA) is a union that represents about 41,000 educators working in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 public schools and community colleges.

OEA’s membership includes licensed teachers and specialists, classified/education support professionals (ESPs), community college faculty, retired educators, and student members. OEA members also belong to the 3.2 million members of the National Education Association (NEA).

OEA members are affiliated with Local Associations, which bargain their work contract with support from OEA staff. Local Associations also collaborate with local school districts, community colleges, school boards, and community leaders to provide the basic right of great public education to every student.

Mission, Vision & Core Values

The Oregon Education Association is guided by these principles to ensure we are able to empower educators to help students succeed.

Our Leadership

41,000 members elect 1,100 delegates–who elect OEA's top officers, debate issues, and set OEA policy. Here are your leaders, making your voice heard.

Governance & Policies

Help us shape OEA's policies and strategic direction to build capacity, advance opportunities, and secure the environment for students, educators, and families.

Our Members

From Baker City to Ashland, or Sun River to Portland, OEA supports educators in every career role as they work to help their students succeed.
